Behind, without a doubt, the smallest facade that can be found in Maastricht, one finds an architectural monument with, on the one hand, the ground floor, ‘Salon des Arts’, a home gallery where art exhibitions are regularly held and, on the other, on the first and second floors. The Art Residence ‘, a very spacious and luxurious guesthouse that can accommodate up to 6 people. This special building is located on Keizer Karelplein, a small square in the heart of the center, only half a minute’s walk from the most important and famous square in Maastricht; the Vrijthof.
The guesthouse is accessible via its own “front door” and monumental wooden spiral staircase. On the first floor you will find a large living room (approximately 65 m2) with a view on the north side of the Vrijthof and a view on the rear of the patio of the “Salon des Arts”. Adjacent to a guest toilet and a fully equipped modern kitchen (about 30 m2) with large dining table (6 people), induction hob, fridge, oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, etc. The entire floor is tastefully decorated with paintings and some other art objects, which incidentally, if the guest is interested in them, can also be purchased.
For your safety, the entire building is equipped with fire alarms, fire extinguishers and a carbon monoxide sensor. There is also an emergency staircase to the roof of the house. The entire building therefore complies with all legal safety requirements.
